DeSoto County Library

The DeSoto County Library is committed to providing user-oriented services to all citizens. Services include books, magazines, audio and visual materials. Also provided are public computers with internet service and a children’s computer center equipped with educational games.

DeSoto County Links

The Heartland Library Cooperative is a multi-county library as defined by Florida Statutes 257.171 and 257.172. Funding is provided via Florida State Aid for Libraries as administered by the State Library of Florida. Federal Library Services and Technology Act funds administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services have also been used for multiple projects. No funding is derived locally. 

Individual county systems and/or branches also receive County State Aid to Libraries grant funding, provided in the same method outlined above, and funding provided by their Board of County Commissioners. DeSoto County Library receives funding from the DeSoto County Board of County Commissioners and the County State Aid to Libraries grant.
